Fleece is Your Friend!

Fleece...

Can't imagine how it relates to cloth diapering?

Well it does, in more ways then you probably think!

The way we're talking about today is using it as a diaper liner.

  1. It can be used as a reuseable alternative to disposable liners (you know, for catching number 2's).
  2. It can be used for lining your diapers against diaper creams.
  3. It can be used in night time diapers for a layer between babies bottom and the pee, to avoid rashes and burns.
  4. Again, for night time diapers to help with a stay dry feeling. (Also applies to day time diapers if baby is sensitive to the wet feeling)
So easy to use! Simply lay the liner in the diaper and diaper as usual!

Great news!!
We have these in-stock at Island Bum Cloth Diapers!

6 Simple Steps...Thats All You Need!

Most parents who are new to cloth diapering find pocket diapers the easiest to use!
Generally they come in OS, which means using the snaps you can adjust them to fit from approx. 8lbs-35lbs.  A one time investment to diaper your child from birth-potty training!  They're also great if you have more then one child in diapers (like me:))...you can use the same diaper on all your kids!

So how do these diapers work?

Here's what we do! :)

Here's the diaper, showing the pocket and insert

"Stuff" the insert into the pocket...for added absorbency where you need it, you can fold the insert.  I have boys so I fold it over in a third and put it right in the front, for a girl you can fold it in half and lay it in the middle of the diaper :)

Put diaper on baby, just like you would do with a disposable.

Get your side snaps where you need them for the snuggest fit

Now, this diaper is still way too big for Baby G in the rise.  If he messes in it, it will probably just go right out the sides!  You need to adjust the rise by using the snaps in the front :)

Baby G needs the rise on the smallest setting still, so we take the bottom row of snaps and bring it up to the top row.

All done!

Baby G is all diapered and ready to go!

It might take a little while to used to putting these diapers on.  If you only have one baby in them its super fast to put them on because you can leave the rise snapped where you need it!  I can change them now just as fast as I can a disposable :)

Go Green With The Champ!

I have a bunch of GoGreen Pocket Diapers in my fluff stash and I love each and every one of them.
But there's one that I have a soft spot for....The Champ.

This is a beauty of a cloth diaper!

They take "one size" seriously by adding extra snaps everywhere to make it a snug fit from newborn right to potty training.

Here it is on its smallest setting, the top overlaps for a snug fit around the waist (and believe me it is tiny!) There are 4 rows of snaps down the front to get a perfect fit around tiny little legs :)

Can you believe this is the same diaper!? On its biggest setting it will fit an even bigger baby then Lil Tank! ;)

The diaper has 2 pocket openings and a snap on the inside to attach the insert to, this means no need to touch the yucky insert to take it out for washing...it comes out on its own and stays attached to the diaper!  Also you can see the dual inner gussets for catching any runny messes...could it get any better!?

Showing attached insert

Here is Baby G rockin' the leopard...he weighs 18lbs and still has plenty of room to grow in this diaper!

I completely recommend adding one or more of these diapers to your stash especially if you're going to be diapering a newborn.

Head on over to GoGreen Pocket Diapers to check them out!
